OVER-SEEDING Over-seeding involves stitching seed into an existing pasture to thicken and fill gaps where weeds will flourish. It is rarely a good idea to pull up a pasture and start from scratch. It takes at least 12 months to grow a sward able to withstand the rigours of grazing. The introduction of herbs and wild flowers can also be achieved during over-seeding. Re-seeding from scratch can also be undertaken where circumstances dictate. |
